  • DC-DC converter from 72V to 12V with 500W of power.

    Manufacturer lead time 8 weeks.

  • Link 1

DESCRIPTION:

DC-DC converters are responsible for converting the high voltage of the traction battery to charge the vehicle's stationary battery (12V).

FuelTech VCUs have a function that monitors the voltage of the low voltage battery, activating the DC-DC in case of low charge on the 12V battery, as long as the high voltage battery is able to supply energy (charge and voltage above the limits minimum values configured in the VCU).

The 72V DC-DC CONVERTER model has an isolated input and output and is suitable for use in conjunction with the FTE WEG 23 Powertrain and the 72V - 3.3kW on-board charger .

    Common questions:

  • Is it necessary to maintain a 12V battery in an electric vehicle?

    •

      • Yes, the vehicle's stationary or 12V battery needs to be maintained in an electric vehicle design. In these projects it is used to power all low voltage systems, such as headlight bulbs, audio systems, sensors, windshield wipers, among other items in the vehicle.

  • Why do I need a DC-DC in my electric vehicle?

      • With the removal of the combustion engine, other components such as the alternator were also removed from the project, which is responsible for recharging the stationary battery whenever the combustion engine (ICE) starts operating. To compensate for the lack of an alternator, electric vehicles use energy from the traction battery (high voltage), converting it to low voltage (12V) through the DC-DC converter.
