Measuring turbine rotation provides information that allows identifying whether the turbocharger is operating within the efficiency map or in areas of malfunction (overpressure or choke line appears). To obtain this data it is necessary to enter the number of rotor blades into the FuelTech Datalogger, and then measure the rotation speed and maximize the turbo output, allowing you to obtain valuable data on the operation of the turbo in your engine.
*Please note: this sensor does not read until the turbo speed is above 5000 RPM; If you turn the wheel manually, the sensor will display 0 RPM.
Other advantages of using the turbo compressor rotation sensor:
✅ Identify the limit of the "overspeed" turbine, avoiding damage to the turbo and engine;
✅ Size the turbo compressor according to your needs, whoever uses the compound configuration can identify how much one turbine is sending to the other;
✅ Extract greater efficiency from your engine in a safer way;
✅ Identify restrictions on the turbine input (example filters);
✅ Improve pressure relief (example: wastegate positioning, valve spring load, etc.)
